The first of the American style newspaper palaces in the street, it was designed for the new owners in 1928. The upper floor of the 'Neo Graeco Egyptian' building incorporated a director's penthouse suite. The Telegraph building was the most prominent in Fleet Street until it was upstaged by the black glass Daily Express
