Mary Ellen is a fossil form of Lake Superior jasper. It's found in a fairly large range from the beaches of northern MN through upper Wisconsin and over to the western edge of the UP of Michigan. Mary Ellen looks different than jaspelite due to fossil formations that left unique patterns within the stone. This stone is a beautiful deep red and shiny gunmetal gray with nice swirl
