Early in the morning we were out in Zodiacs exploring the giant icebergs which we came across as we sailed up Scoresby Sound and Hall Bredning

If you have been to Juneau at all you know that it rains in this area of Alaska

I headed up to Dinosaur Ridge to scout and take some images of a scene I first noticed a few years ago

using a 70mm lens hand held

Not too far from sea level we came across this area and positioned myself on the rocks next to it in order to capture the lines and textures of the scene

Ridges in the Mountains Size:16"x20" Early in the morning weHeading south on the Alaska Railroad from Fairbanks to Anchorage is quite an experience. In early March one year I took this trip and was fortunate to have nice conditions, and yes cold, as the train made the twelve hour journey. As we passed through the Alaska Range the low clouds provided scenic views along with temperatures near zero as I watched from an open window in the train.
