RBQ-3 Polyclonal Antibody, 100ul Cell Screening and Imaging The protein encoded by thisRBBP5 (RB binding protein 5, histone lysine methyltransferase complex subunit) encodes a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein which belongs to a highly conserved subfamily of WD repeat proteins. The encoded protein binds directly to retinoblastoma protein, which regulates cell proliferation. It interacts preferentially with the underphosphorylated retinoblastoma protein via the E1A binding pocket B. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants

Description

The protein encoded by this gene is closely related to STAM| an adaptor protein involved in the downstream signaling of cytokine receptors| both of which contain a SH3 domain and the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM)

In particular this protein represses the circadian clock transcription factor aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1 (ARNTL)

and it may also be involved in some cases of cleft lip/palate

a skeletal muscle membrane protein which is important in the formation of caveolae

This gene has multiple pseudogenes and is a member of the phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis gene family
