Inscribed on the draw tube 'Ross, London, No. 29975, Sold by Robinson & Co., Singapore', this achromatic telescope is typical of the type used on board ship in the late 19th century. Ross, based in London, were a respected name in optics and produced quality scientific instruments. Robinsons, a pioneering and leading department
