KLF8 Polyclonal Antibody, 50ul Pipette Filler The Bloom syndrome gene productKLF8 encodes Kruppel like factor 8 which is a member of the Sp KLF family of transcription factors. Members of this family contain a C terminal DNA binding domain with three Kruppel like zinc fingers. The Kruppel like factor 8 is thought to play an important role in the regulation of epithelial to mesenchymal transition, a process which occurs normally during development but also during metastasis. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 16.

Description

The Bloom syndrome gene product is related to the RecQ subset of DExH box-containing DNA helicases and has both DNA-stimulated ATPase and ATP-dependent DNA helicase activities

The protein also has rho-GTPase activity

The encoded protein is part of the spliceosome complex and functions in the second catalytic step of mRNA splicing

This receptor has various functions| including in the intracellular trafficking of lysosomal enzymes| the activation of transforming growth factor beta| and the degradation of insulin-like growth factor 2

The subunit encoded by this gene undergoes post-translational cleavage to yield the extracellular alpha2 peptide and a membrane-anchored delta polypeptide
