Everythign Western was the rage in the late 30s and early 40s and the trend translated over to women's wear resulting in fabulous pieces like this little jacket

I love when that happens though - sometimes the pieces that do not follow a designers aesthetic are to me

It has that typical eighties cut over sized through the upper body with wide shoulders and lots of fabric so its sits loose and easy and then a more defined skirt. The waist is elastic so you can wear it where you wish I have shown it styled low around the hips so the skirt is long but you could also pull it up to wear it mid hip or right at the waist for a higher hem line.
